FLURIZAN™ Development Status

FLURIZAN™ (tarenflurbil) is an investigational drug being studied in two Phase 3 clinical trials of patients with mild Alzheimer's disease. It is a selective amyloid beta 42 lowering agent (SALA) that has been shown in cellular and animal studies to reduce levels of the toxic amyloid beta 42 peptide through the allosteric modulation of gamma-secretase. Flurizan reduces amyloid pathology in the brain and prevents memory defects in transgenic mice.
